What drew you to a career at Cyara originally and how has the company changed since?
I was working for a customer of Cyara’s in Australia and could see how much potential the platform had. I wanted to be part of the team and joined Cyara back in 2010, when there was less than 10 employees. Since that time, Cyara has grown in multiple phases to become an industry leader in the CX Assurance market. I am very proud of all our achievements and enjoy contributing to our successes.
What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?
Due to the time-zone crossover with the USA, most mornings are taken up with meetings and/or responding to overnight emails. That leaves most afternoons to concentrate on the various projects we’re working on in the Education and Training team. Having an international team works really well though and there’s always flexibility with time zones at Cyara.
Tell us about your work life harmony at Cyara?
Even prior to Covid, I have always enjoyed exercising each day, which I believe is beneficial to mental well-being. Quite often I think of new ideas or solutions to problems during exercise. With two teenage children, the flexibility of Cyara’s working hours allows me to help out with school drops off or pick-ups when needed.
Describe your current role at Cyara.
I’m the General Manager of the Education and Training team. Working as part of the broader Customer Experience team, we are responsible for creating and maintaining an industry leading technical training program for our customers, partners and internal staff.
How would you describe the culture at Cyara?
Even though we’ve grown significantly from when I started, it still feels like a small company where people are always positive and willing to help others, regardless of which team or business unit you’re in. Everyone is proactive and has a can-do attitude.
What has been the most empowering moment in your Cyara career journey?
When Alok (our CEO) gave me the opportunity to create the Education and Training team, known externally as the Cyara Academy. I still remember creating the first training video and courses, then flying around the world to deliver some of them to our customers. I am proud of all of our achievements to date.
What are you passionate about in your role?
I’m passionate about continuous learning. Everybody has the potential to improve themselves through learning, whether that’s through reading, watching a video or listening to a podcast. Continuous learning may only happen in small steps, however those small steps can add up to make big changes in your habits and way of life.
How does Cyara help support your sense of purpose in your career?
Cyara has always given me the opportunity to work in different areas and experience new roles. With the support of the Executive team, I have always felt that I can make a difference in what I do and those outcomes can have lasting positive effects for the company.
What have you gained from working at Cyara from a career perspective?
Working in different areas within the company has broadened my overall professional and management experience. Cyara has always provided an environment to allow me to continuously improve my skillsets. There is always something new to learn at Cyara, which I’ve always enjoyed.
If you could describe Cyara as an employer in 3 words, what words would you use?
Agile – Respectful – Rewarding.
How has Cyara’s global approach to diversity helped you in your career so far?
There are a lot of different backgrounds and cultures within the broader Cyara family. This helps to open up your mind and consider different perspectives on various topics. When we listen, we learn.
