What drew you to a career at Cyara originally and how has the company changed since?

Cyara’s mission to ‘improve customer experience on planet earth’ is something that drew me in instantly to want to become a part of the team. I love the fact that we are working every day to make people’s lives better by taking away customer pain points and giving them more time to do the things they love.

What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?

I never feel like I have a typical day at Cyara. My role involves building Cyara’s Design System, which provides our developers with UI elements to help them deliver new and exciting features for our customers. I also spend time with users to gather insights and find pain points and develop functional prototypes that the UX team tests and iterates with users of Cyara’s Platform.

At the moment I’m working on a new feature that will enhance the way users interact with call center audio recordings. It will be a complete game-changer, allowing users to easily analyze and debug problems in their IVR call recordings.

Tell us about your work life harmony at Cyara?

I have a young family, so working at Cyara has given me the flexibility to break from the 9-5. I love that I can create a schedule that allows me to do Kinder pickups and spend more time with my family. With flexible working, I also love that I can get away from my laptop during the day and go to the gym or sneak out to the golfing range.

Describe your current role at Cyara

I touched on this earlier, however, my role is broken up into three key areas, first building Cyara’s Design System, second creating functional Prototypes that get tested and iterated with users (which then get handed over to the engineering teams for implementation), and third, governance of the UI in Cyara’s products.

How would you describe the culture at Cyara?

For me, Cyara is culturally very supportive and a place where I am trusted with the freedom to spread my wings. Inside the UX team, we have autonomy and ownership of our domain. I am never given just ‘tasks’ from my manager, but given the opportunity to own and lead any given project.

Even with the difficulty of joining during Covid, I was made to feel very welcome by staff, getting to know my fellow Cyarans with virtual lunches, Friday drinks, and other activities.

What has been the most empowering moment in your Cyara career journey?

By far, being given the opportunity to lead the implementation of Cyara’s Design System. It has allowed me to have a direct impact on how users interact with the Cyara Platform and the value they get from our products.

What are you passionate about in your role?

I’m passionate about giving Cyara’s customers the best possible experience when it comes to using our products. Cyara, at its core, is all about improving customer experience and providing our own users with a delightful experience, which is something I truly care about.

How does Cyara help support your sense of purpose in your career?

My manager is always working with me to align my own career growth with our own goals as a department. Again, being given ownership of initiatives and feature development has provided me with an amazing sense of purpose in my own career.

The Cyara stipend for learning initiatives is also something that has provided me with opportunities to upskill, whether than taking a short course or a book that helps me with my education.

What have you gained from working at Cyara from a career perspective?

I’ve gained a tremendous understanding of my ability to have an impact on Cyara’s products. As a growing organization, I’ve been able to witness firsthand from customers the value that my work has had on their ability to achieve successful outcomes.
