Achieve Speed & Quality in Your Amazon Connect Cloud Migration

In my last blog post, I focused on how Cyara Accelerator helps companies accelerate their migration to Amazon Connect by automatically documenting existing IVR applications, and automatically generating call flows in Amazon Connect. By automating the process of generating a baseline IVR, brands can get their new system up and running much faster.

For most companies, the decision to move their contact center to the cloud is driven by a desire to deliver an outstanding customer experience, and to achieve agility in their development cycles to enable continuous innovation.  

Speed & Quality just ahead

In today’s post, I want to turn my attention to test automation and how it contributes to helps companies achieve the vision of agility, while assuring quality. Let’s start by talking about the perceived tradeoff between speed and quality. DevOps has proven to increase both speed and quality. According to the 2018 Accelerate: State of DevOps Report, elite performers are able to make changes 2,500X faster, and deploy 46X more frequently than their peers. At the same time, they see improvements in quality. The changes they roll out are 1/7X less likely to fail, and when they do, elite performers are 2,600X faster to restore service.

How Test Automation Helps with Speed and Quality

Whether following a DevOps methodology or not, test automation is a critical factor in achieving both speed and quality. With manual testing, the testing phase of the software development lifecycle can take up to 50% of the total release cycle, thereby frequently becoming a bottleneck. To overcome this bottleneck, companies take shortcuts resulting in lower quality, as bugs and defects sneak through testing and wind up in production.

By automating testing, Cyara customers routinely see their time/test reduced by 80%, meaning they get releases to market 40%-70% faster than without Cyara. 

Not only do our customers see improvements in speed, but they also see improvements in quality. Because testing is faster, they test more of their application without increasing the amount of time in the development cycle needed for testing. Cyara customers see an increase in test coverage by 800%. Moreover, manual testing is mundane, and it’s all too easy for a human to become distracted resulting in inconsistent testing and errors.
