Employee Profile-Avita Fernandes

Having started as an Intern and progressing to full time work, I’ve learned a significant amount at Cyara. Being my first experience in the industry I’ve learned how to work well with different teams, problem solve, manage my time and much more.

What drew you to a career at Cyara originally and how has the company changed since?

I was introduced to Cyara through an Internship where I was placed within the company for six months. During this time, I worked with two different teams and really enjoyed the experience, both from a technical and social aspect. I was given the chance to grow professionally and personally and I was very enticed by the accepting and positive culture. It is because of this that I was drawn to Cyara and continued to pursue the opportunity to work here after my internship commenced. Since then, Cyara has adopted the scaled agile framework and has taken multiple steps toward promoting the company’s growth and our personal growth as employees

What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?

A typical day for me consists of participating in a Scrum, creating or enhancing automated tests, or performing manual testing when automation cannot be achieved. During this process I also ensure that any discovered defects are raised with the necessary people. Depending on where we are in the Program Increment (PI), I also review the test automation runs and may create test plans for planned feature work or regression testing.

At the moment I’m currently working on adding automated accessibility tests for the new audio editor that’s been recently integrated into the Cyara portal.
