What drew you to a career at Cyara originally and how has the company changed since?

I was recruited by a former boss, back in 2014.

I liked that it wasn’t a commodity type of sale, and I have always loved working for small companies. The main change I have seen since joining is our recent explosive growth, both in terms of sales/revenue and headcount. We are on fire! (in a good way!)

What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?

I am a senior level Sales Representative, so my days are a mixture of managing installed base opportunities and identifying opportunities with new prospects.

Tell us about your work life harmony at Cyara?

“Family First” is a core value here at Cyara, and we live it every day. Don’t get me wrong – we all work hard. But if there is a family need, the company fully expects you to take the time you need to address it. For example, during the 2020 pandemic shutdown, Cyara made sure to accommodate the needs employees whose children were suddenly requiring at-home schooling attention. And recognizing the stress we were all under during those uncertain times, Cyara offered meditation and Yoga Zoom sessions (and we still do!).

Describe your current role at Cyara:

I am a senior level Sales Representative.

How would you describe the culture at Cyara?

We’re fun, kind, humble, supportive, driven and appropriately competitive. Culture is everything, and here at Cyara we are fierce guardians of our wonderful culture. For a culture to thrive, it needs buy-in from the top down and the bottom up – and here at Cyara, we ALL are watching closely to make sure we don’t lose this special environment as we continue to grow. What has been the most empowering moment in your Cyara career journey?

When I come up with some unconventional solution for winning business, my bosses have always supported me (as long as it is the right thing to do for the customer, and for Cyara). They trust my judgement and value my creativity.

What are you passionate about in your role?

I am passionate about the fact that our products truly make a difference in the lives of our customers. We give them peace of mind that they can consistently deliver a high-quality customer experience, just as they drew it up on the whiteboard.

How does Cyara help support your sense of purpose in your career?

I’ve never been about selling software – I’ve always focused on selling solutions that bring real value to my customers. Cyara is a perfect fit!

What have you gained from working at Cyara from a career perspective?

Well, I’ve been at this “selling thing” for 30+ years. I am a sales professional and that is all I aspire to be at this late stage in my career. However, I do know that Cyara puts a lot of focus on helping employees build and achieve their career growth plans, so if that is important to you, Cyara is a great place to work!

If you could describe Cyara as an employer in 3 words, what words would you use?

Fair, challenging and supportive

How has Cyara’s global approach to diversity helped you in your career so far?

Our employees represent an amazing number of different nationalities, cultures and languages spoken. And as the first (but not the last!) openly LGBT employee, I can attest that the company is extremely supportive. I’m also one of the oldest employees. I can honestly say that I have never felt a hint of discrimination, for being gay or for my age.
